An event featuring fine wines, food, art & culture of the Salinas Valley including wine tasting, fresh food, cooking demonstrations, live music & more!
The Salinas Valley boasts world famous grape and wine production featured in amazing premium labels. At the same time, Salinas is growing a rich culinary tradition fusing traditional & contemporary Mexican cuisine. The City of Salinas and its Oldtown Business District looks to attract tourism and celebrate a younger professional demographic in its community. The Monterey County Young Professionals is a forum for networking and business development through the hosting of regular social events to support professional and personal development of its membership.The two groups have partnered to present this fantastic event! This event will grow tourism and notoriety to the best kept secret in food, wine & central coast culture.
Each guest will be given a wine glass, a “passport” program & wristband to confirm payment. Along Oldtown Salinas, wineries will be featured inside various stores from one end of the block to the other. Food and Vendor booths will be set up along the street where parking would normally be. There will be a stage set up adjacent to the “check-in” area where music, cultural activities & demonstrations will take place. A second stage will be set up in City Lot #3 (off Monterey Street) off the alley connecting the 200 block to Monterey Street. That stage will accompany a small beer garden and an “events” area dedicated to vegetable related activities and competitions. The wineries will be invited to “pour” inside various businesses along Main Street. Wine glasses will be sold at the event “check-in” table only and wineries will be given specific instruction to not pour to anyone without an event wine glass and of drinking age.
