Salinas Valley Food & Wine “Wine Makers Dinner”
October 15th 7:30pm
Salinas, CA – The Salinas Valley Food and Wine Festival has announced a “Wine Makers Dinner” set for Saturday, October 15th from 7:30PM – 10:30PM. The event will feature local celebrity chef, Steven Kuboda & Salinas Valley Wine Maker, Bill Temple, of Chateau Marie Antoinette. Certified Professional Sommelier, Sheila Taylor will also be on hand to aid in wine interpretation. Seating is limited and dinner will take place at the Salinas Valley Fish House at 172 Main Street. The amazing menu is set as follows:
First Course: Cinnamon nutmeg sweet potato soup paired with/ Chateau Marie Antoinette Chardonnay
Second Course: Canadian Rock Crab cake over Carmel Valley Baby Mixed Greens in an avocado vinaigrette paired with Chateau Marie Antoinette Fume Blanc.
Third Course: Four cheese & spinach ravioli in fresh marinara paired with Chateau Marie Antoinette Merlot
Fourth Course: Barbequed Gulf White Shrimp over petite filet mignon in red wine roasted garlic sauce with garlic mashed potatoes paired with Chateau Marie Antoinette Cabernet Sauvignon
Dessert: Local berries in Grand Marnier served over vanilla bean ice cream
Admission to the dinner is $80 and includes all wine, a five course extravagant meal and gratuity. Tickets and discounted ticketing packages are available at www.salinasvalleyfoodandwine.com. This terrific meal precedes the Salinas Valley Food and Wine Festival set for Saturday, October 22nd from 12-5PM.

Salinas Valley Food & Wine Festival Mixer Oct. 13th
Salinas, CA – The Oldtown Salinas Association and the Monterey County Young Professionals Group announce a “Wine Tasting Mixer” to kick off the Salinas Valley Food and Wine Festival on Thursday, October 13th from 5PM to 7:30PM. The Wine Tasting Mixer will take place at “A Taste of Monterey” (127 Main Street) in Oldtown Salinas.
Admission to the mixer is $10 and includes wine tasting and a full glass of wine. Appetizers are also included. The admission price of the mixer can be applied toward the purchase price of tickets for the Salinas Valley Food and Wine Festival scheduled for Saturday Oct. 22nd from noon to 5PM in Oldtown Salinas. Salinas Valley Food & Wine Festival Set for Oct. 22nd
Salinas, CA – The Oldtown Salinas Association and the Monterey County Young Professionals Group announced a Salinas Valley Food and Wine Festival set for Oldtown Salinas on October 22nd from noon to 5PM today. The event will take place on the 200 block of Main Street and already includes fifteen wineries and six breweries along with a number of local restaurants, caterers and vendors. One hundred percent of the profits benefit charity with a portion going to fight homelessness through Shelter Outreach Plus.
Tickets for the event include a souvenir glass and unlimited wine tasting. There will be two stages featuring cooking demonstrations, dancing and live music. The event is partnered with the Monterey County Arts Council and will include a wide variety of local art on display. Tickets are $30 Advance and $40 at the door to attend the event. There is a special price of $50 for couples wishing to attend. VIP admission is $75 for advance purchase and $85 at the door. VIP will take place in the FOX Theater.

Announces Program &
Prestigious Wine Judges
Salinas – Excitement for the First Annual Salinas Valley Food and Wine Festival continues to mount as sixteen wineries, eight breweries and two juice bottlers have announced participation. Even more impressive is the wine competition that has surfaced.
The festival announced today the team of 2011 judges including five judges along with several apprentices. The judging team will be led by Master Sommelier, Catherine Fallis and Master Sommelier, Randy Caparoso. Catherine Fallis is the first woman in the world to have earned both the Master Sommelier diploma from the International Court of Master Sommeliers and the Advanced Certified Wine Professional diploma from the Culinary Institute of America Catherine is a contributing editor for Sommelier Journal. Randy Caparoso is a founding partner of the Roy’s restaurant group and also a contributing editor for Sommelier Journal. These two will be joined by Certified Sommelier and Wine Maker, Shauna Rosenblum; Certified Sommelier and Wine Maker, Pietro Buttitta and Certified Sommelier and Trained Chef, Sheila Taylor.
More then 1000 people are expected to attend the event October 22, 2011 from Noon – 5PM. More than fifty vendors are confirmed including a fantastic collection of vintage cars on display between noon and 2PM. Two stages will feature more than a dozen acts including live music, dance groups, a “Vegetable Olympics” and cooking demonstrations featuring local culinary talent.
